A true Nordic co-operation took place during the summer of 2024 when, together with our partners Masttech Oy and Heliteam As, we erected Scanmast's northernmost mast in Finland next to the Norwegian border.
Logistics were a major challenge as the site for the mast is located on a mountain, far from built-up areas. We used the unique northern climate to our advantage. During the winter, we built an ice road to cost-effectively transport the mast parts and the technical shed to the site, while the long bright days of summer were the optimal time to safely assemble and lift the mast by helicopter.
As a result of stricter regulatory requirements and the development of mobile networks, the need to build masts in hard-to-reach areas has increased significantly. This 'wilderness' concept is one of the many cost-effective and innovative solutions we can offer our customers.
