Daniel Herrlin – Project Manager

You are a project manager – what does that mean?
I lead the projects and Field Engineers. We have our own and sometimes also subcontractors. I handle the contact with the customer and pass it on to our Field Engineers. I manage the finances of the projects and am responsible for providing the right basis for the Field Engineers so that they can do their job, I make sure that they have everything they need to get to the projects and be able to do their job, that they have the right conditions and can do the job safely. You are often responsible for many small projects at the same time and then it is important to be able to have many balls in the air at the same time. Sometimes you have several teams out at the same time around the country, then it is important to keep track of all the material, documentation and documentation needed for each project. You must have a helicopter perspective as a project manager and make sure that everyone has what they need.

What does a normal week look like for you?
It depends on the phases of the different projects. Some weeks when Field Engineers are starting up at a new location, my focus is on making sure that they have materials and information. It’s important to be on standby if they need me. Then there are other weeks where the projects are in the final phase, the Field Engineers are finished, and I will handle the documentation and do more administrative tasks. Then it becomes more that I sit at the computer and talk to the customer.

What’s most fun about your job?
It is all the talented and nice colleagues! Everyone is social, nice, and helpful. Another fun thing is that the work is so broad and varied. There are always new projects and customers.

How have you developed at Scanmast?
Since I worked as a Field Engineer first and then became a project manager, I have seen both sides – I have been out in the field and know how long it takes to build and how weather and wind affect the planning. It has made me more understanding and more analytical. I have become better at planning and getting to know how other people experience the situation.

How would you describe Scanmast as a company?
